Finding Your Bible Study Style

Faith
Bible journaling seems to be all the rage right now! I've even found that using color and note-taking in my own bible forces me to slow down and really digest what each verse is speaking to my heart. Sometimes, the pressure to have a beautiful bible causes me to stress and miss the point, though. That's what I want to touch on. Click through to read!

Welcome to another Super Short Sunday post! I’ve realized that I have SO much that I want to share with you, but sometimes it’s just a quick thought here and there. Sundays have become a time for me to be candid with y’all and share what’s been on my mind, what I’ve been learning, and what I’ve been doing that’s been working. I love being able to share some of my more personal struggles and thoughts in a super quick post, so let’s do this!

Instagram, Pinterest, and various blogs are filled with beautiful pictures of colorful bibles. Bible study is “trending”, and I think it’s awesome! I love the idea of anything that brings more people to Christ, so I’m a big fan of the bible journaling movement. I’ve even found that using color and note-taking in my own bible forces me to slow down and really digest what each verse is speaking to my heart.

Sometimes, the pressure to have a beautiful bible causes me to stress and miss the point, though. That’s what I want to touch on today.

Find what works for you and your relationship with God. It’s great to get inspiration and motivation on your walk with Christ from other believers! However, it’s easy to get sucked into the comparison game. Each person’s individual bible study looks different, AND the day-to-day in your own study won’t always be the same. Some days, I feel God calling me to take more time and get creative in my bible. Other times, I feel called to just rest in silence and pray.

What I want you to understand is, it’s really important to find what works for you and be okay with the fact that it’s doesn’t have to be the same, regimented thing each day. It doesn’t have to be “perfect”. God wants a relationship with you whether or not you decorate your bible. 🙂
